Working intuitively with materials including ceramics and papier-mâché, Michielssen moves between geometric forms influenced by constructivism and Bauhaus and more organic, tactile designs.This varied approach gives each lamp its own character. Ceramic pieces explore archetypal shapes, unexpected angles, woven reliefs and warm glazes, while the Georgia lamps pair expressive, brightly coloured bases with soft cotton lampshades.
