Marc Ferrand

Marc Ferrand is a designer based in Nice. After graduating in industrial design from École Bleue in Paris in 2006, he began collaborating with Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, working on industrial design as well as nomadic and temporary architecture. In 2017 he founded Atelier Marc Ferrand.
His work ranges from industrial design collaborations with international companies to emergency aid projects, often exploring the relationship between form, the human body and architecture. One of his most renowned disaster-relief projects is a memorial created after Storm Alex in 2020, which caused severe damage in the southeast of France; for this project he used driftwood that washed ashore to create the structure of the memorial.
Recent projects include the Mediterranean Stones jewellery collection and Jamais Content for Bottega Ghianda, selected for the Compasso d'Oro. Ferrand also co-designed Navire Avenir, a lifeboat catamaran developed by a European collective.
For Serax, he designed the Parole vases collection, inspired by the Mediterranean Sea.
