Maurice Harris

Maurice Harris is a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist and the founder of Bloom & Plume, his acclaimed bespoke floral studio in Echo Park. Trained in sculpture, new media and fashion at Otis College of Art and Design, he began his career creating imaginative visual displays before returning to his early love of flowers, a craft he first learned from his grandmother. Since founding Bloom & Plume in 2010, Harris has become one of Los Angeles’ most sought-after floral designers, transforming flowers into sculptural, expressive works that blend luxury, humour, vulnerability and celebration. His distinctive vision has led to collaborations with brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci and Nike.
For Serax, Harris translates his bold approach to colour, form and craftsmanship into Cameo In&Out, a collection of mouth-blown glass vases inspired by the historic cameo. Drawing on Kente textiles and his own silhouette, the sculptural designs reimagine this classical portrait form through his personal and cultural perspective.
