The lighting collection by Marie Michielssen for Serax brings together lamps from across the designer’s different collections, from intimate table and wall lamps to sculptural floor lamps. Working intuitively with materials including ceramics and papier-mâché, Michielssen moves between geometric forms influenced by constructivism and Bauhaus and more organic, tactile designs.
This varied approach gives each lamp its own character. Ceramic pieces explore archetypal shapes, unexpected angles, woven reliefs and warm glazes, while the Georgia lamps pair expressive, brightly coloured bases with soft cotton lampshades. Across the collection, the handcrafted quality remains visible in the surfaces and forms. Whether casting a subtle ambient light or taking on a more sculptural presence, Marie Michielssen’s lighting combines material, shape and light in a distinctly personal design language.
