Hélène Lepinay discovered ceramics after moving to Belgium, where she began painting nature and animal subjects on raw porcelain before slowly finding her way to clay. The countryside, plants and animals remain her greatest source of inspiration. Her planter is made from clay and stoneware, in soft vegetal tones of green, ochre and brown. The shapes are gentle and harmonious, designed to bring a sense of nature and vegetation into the home. The work is guided by sensation rather than emotion: softness, harmony and lightness in every piece.
Designer
Hélène Lepinay is a French visual artist, born in Paris. Self-taught and instinctively hands-on, she has always worked with materials, ropes, wool, bronze, brushes, and feathers, guided by a clear philosophy: her work seeks simplicity and balance, in every material she works with.
Her early career took shape in the studio of Joël Blanc, a renowned visual artist working in bronze, an experience that deepened her connection to the natural world and to craft. Her work has been recognised with the prestigious Paul Landowski Prize.
Coming to live in Belgium marked a new chapter: painting nature and animal subjects on raw porcelain in the studio of Anita Le Grelle, before gradually turning to clay as her primary medium. Working in clay and stoneware, her palette draws from the earth itself, vegetal greens, warm ochres, and deep browns that feel at once timeless and alive.
Her collaboration with Serax is a natural extension of this world, brought to life in her Interior Accessories collection, where plants and animals are translated into objects that capture the quiet poetry of the natural environment.
