Collection
Alex Gabriels’ lighting collection combines clean design with a raw, tactile feel. The ceramic lamps are inspired by modernist architecture and let the light shine through softly, creating a gentle side glow that reveals the natural texture of the chamotte clay.
Designer
Alex Gabriels started her career as an art director in the advertising industry. During the past four years, she worked as a freelancer so that time could be freed up to develop her passion for ceramics. It’s a passion she has been working on for years but has only become full time since 2020. “I acquired the love for tableware from my mother,” she explains. “But I am happy to work with decorative ceramics such as lamps and vases of which several parts have to be turned separately. The assembly of those parts is always a magical moment”.
Her passion for craftsmanship shines through in her Lighting collection of ceramic lamps, and in Mira Interior Accessories, a series of calming objects that evoke the charm of pre-electric lighting. Both collections reflect her pure, elegant style and love for handmade ceramics.
