Following the success of her debut collection for Serax, Dutch designer Annebet Philips expands the world of Carte Blanche with a series of ceramic vases and candle holders in three different sizes.
Just like the original coffee and tea set, the new pieces translate simple cardboard shapes into porcelain. Inspired by the quick prototypes designers create from folded cardboard, the collection embraces naïve forms that feel as though they were cut out by hand. Every fold line and uneven edge has been preserved and accentuated with deliberately irregular hand-painted lines, capturing the spontaneity of the very first sketch.
The result is a playful collection of ceramic vases and candle holders that celebrates the creative process itself: the excitement of a blank page, an untouched sheet of cardboard, and the moment when every idea still feels possible. Whether displayed individually as a mini vase or grouped together as decorative vases and sculptural candle holders, the pieces bring warmth, character and quiet imagination to any interior.
Available in three sizes for both the vases and candle holders, the collection offers endless possibilities to mix, match and create expressive home décor compositions while remaining true to the poetic simplicity that defines Carte Blanche.
Designer
Annebet Philips is a Dutch designer based in Amsterdam. She is known for her playful, almost cartoon-like design language, characterized by her signature hand-drawn contour lines. Starting from the familiarity of archetypal objects, Annebet gives them a surprising twist. She has collaborated with international brands such as Seletti, Mogg, Tonone, and Tommy Hilfiger. Graduating cum laude with a master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the prestigious TU Delft, she combines artistic vision with strong technical expertise. Her work has been exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan and the Mint Gallery in London.
Her collaboration with Serax has resulted in Carte Blanche, a uniquely playful coffee and tea set that evokes the magic of the very first idea: the moment when, as a designer brimming with inspiration, you cut your first models from cardboard; the blank page, the untouched sheet, when anything is still possible.
