You can find holiday homes that meticulously intertwine luxury, earthiness and tranquillity at The Addresses. The Belgian hospitality brand region touched down in Portugal two years ago and transformed four authentic rural homes into small oases. The houses called ‘Casa Um’, ‘Casa Dois’, ‘Casa Três’ and ‘Casa Quatro’ are to be found in top locations in the Algarve, the southernmost region of Portugal known for its beautiful rock coasts. Casa Um is located between the orange trees, and Casa Dois is in an old fishing village. The founders of The Addresses, Bert Jeuris and Ludovic Beun, know Portugal like the back of their hands. Jeuris has been supplying Portuguese fine wines to culinary gems in Belgium with The Portugal Collection for several years.
But the gentlemen don’t only have gastronomic knowledge. Their sense of architecture and design can be spotted at first glance. They managed to preserve the charm of the old houses and combine it with a subdued minimalist style. Serax was called upon for the furnishings. Among other things, the residences display Marie Michielssen’s Earth collection, and the guests drink the best Portuguese wines from glasses designed by Pascale Naessens. Earthy minimalism is, therefore, one of the keystones of the Belgian design brand. A good marriage to The Addresses was written in the stars.
The fact that The Addresses and Serax were to settle in Portugal was just as obvious and could be read from the constellation. Portugal has been in the spotlight in recent years. Many Belgian designers are inspired by the authenticity of the country and even move there permanently. Several pieces about this trend have been published in quality international media. Portugal is steadily becoming one of the most popular holiday destinations for value-added seekers.
