Collection
De Franse ontwerper Marc Ferrand vond zijn inspiratie in de Middellandse Zee. De Parole vazen weerspiegelen de vorm van de iconische mediterrane terracotta vloertegel. De dunne, transparante glazen wanden contrasteren echter prachtig met het aardse karakter van het oorspronkelijke materiaal en creëren een subtiel lichtspel. De naam Parole verwijst naar het modulaire karakter van de vaas. Je kan meerdere stukken naast elkaar plaatsen, zoals woorden die samen een zin vormen. Hoe meer vazen je verbindt, hoe poëtischer de compositie wordt.
Designer
Marc Ferrand is a French architect and designer based in Nice. He graduated as an industrial designer from the École Bleue in Paris in 2006. Since then, he has been working with Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, for whom he is responsible for industrial design and both nomadic and temporary architecture. In 2017, Ferrand founded his own agency: Atelier Marc Ferrand.
Ferrand develops industrial design in collaboration with international companies and works on emergency aid projects. In addition, he continuously researches the relationship between form, the human body and architecture. One of his most famous emergency aid projects is a memorial project following Storm Alex in 2020, which caused extensive damage in south-eastern France; for this project, he used driftwood washed ashore to assemble furniture.
Recent projects include Mediterranean Stones, a jewellery collection, and Jamais Content for Bottega Ghianda, which was selected for the Compasso d'Oro, a prestigious Italian industrial design award. Ferrand is also the co-designer of Navire Avenir, a 69-metre catamaran that serves as a lifeboat on the high seas, a project developed by survivors, rescue workers, artists, lawyers, researchers and students from across Europe.
For Serax he has designed the Parole vases collection, inspired by the Mediterranean Sea.
